Volunteer Recognition Dinner 2013

 

     Anne Frank said, "How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world!"  On January 27, Rev. Tim and Nina Moseley and the staff  at Wayside Christian Mission honored those selfless volunteers who improve the lives of the homeless during our 2013 Volunteer Recognition Dinner.  The Rev. Richard Anderson who, as a young seminarian, founded the Mission back in 1957, delivered an inspiring message of faith, hope, and encouragement.  During his address, he spoke of the ministry's humble beginnings while marveling at the size and scope of today's Wayside Christian Mission.  The University of Louisville's Dr. Edna Ross, whose efforts have given birth to many innovative ideas, received our Rescuer of the Year Award.  Thanks to her influence, seven of the university's colleges are now involved directly with Wayside Christian Mission.  Rev. Tim and Nina Moseley gave their State of the Mission address which covered a number of relevant topics and the music was provided by the Down By The Wayside Choir.  Are you a volunteer?  If so, thank you!  If not, please consider becoming a volunteer!  Consider yourself invited to our Tuesday evening volunteer orientation held at 6 PM or our Saturday morning volunteer orientation at 10 AM.  Both sessions are held at Hotel Louisville at 120 West Broadway.  Please remember that the  job of caring for the homeless is much too big for us alone!
