Mission Update - UPS helps

UPS Volunteers On The Move At Wayside

With a corporate wide goal of providing 195,000 volunteer hours for the benefit of worthwhile causes around the world, UPS has designated October as their Global Volunteer Month.  Locally, UPS employees selected Wayside Christian Mission's Emergency Shelter as one of their volunteer service project sites.  John Matala, who oversees the campus at 432 E. Jefferson Street reported, "The group that came on October 12 is part of the International Division. When they arrived,  they provided new meaning to the adage that 'Brown was on the move.'  This group of twelve took a drab, grease stained kitchen ceiling and transformed it the old fashioned way, with muscle and elbow grease. For more than six hours, this volunteer group pulled ceiling tiles, moved racks, scrubbed floors, and then put it all back spic and span. Thanks UPS from Wayside Christian Mission for all you do to aid 'the least of these' in our community."
