WAKY Homeless Shack 

Becomes New Fundraising Headquarters

     David Aroh and has father Les are retired home builders, but the Arohs came out of retirement--at least temporarily--to build a rather rickety looking shack on the northwest corner of Wayside Christian Mission's Hotel Louisville's parking lot.  And an eyesore it is, but that's okay, for the makeshift shelter will soon be headquarters for our matching grant fundraiser!  Working with Leonard Moisan of Covenant Group, board member David Will, and WAKY Radio's Mark Strauss, the unsightly shack will be the new epicenter of a matching grant fundraiser to bring Wayside Christian Mission's cooling and heating system up to date.  Thanks to a matching grant opportunity from the J. Graham Brown Foundation, our donors will get more bang for their buck, so to speak, with the matching grant!  As an example, a $100 donation becomes a $150 donation with the matching grant!  The J. Graham Brown Foundation will match fifty cents for every dollar donated to updating our rather antiquated cooling and heating system. 

     And though this is serious business, we expect a lot of fun by teaming up with WAKY Radio!  Their on air personalities will broadcast from the WAKY Shacky and plenty of local celebrities will be dropping by!  And all this is for a very good cause!  The WAKY Shacky will open for business from Friday, May 18 at 6 AM until Sunday, May 20 at 6 PM. But you don't have to wait until then to donate--write your check today and send it to Wayside Christian Mission, PO Box 7249, Louisville, KY 40257-0249.  Please indicate "matching grant" on your check.   Today, your donation dollar has more power thanks to the matching grant opportunity from the J.
