Upcoming Special Events

On November 3, 2006, 5-9pm, Sunshine "Joe" Mallard and the Grateful Threads will be at the Wayside Expressions Gallery for the citywide "Trolley Hop" as part of ScrumbleThon activities. Sunshine "Joe" is one of American’s premier Creative Embroidery craftsmen. He has been embroidering for more than 40 years. The word that best describes his work is Meticulous. Grateful Threads, a lively knitting/crocheting multi-generational group, open to all, came into being at Jeffersontown Christian Church. The enthusiasm of the group, the avidness and eagerness in trying new techniques and the unconditional support given to each other make this a viable, learning, not-to-be-missed Thursday morning experience.

On November 18, Wayside Christian Mission and WE SURVIVE will present ScrumbleThon at the Louisville School of Massage from 10:00am to 6:00pm. This event is being held during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. Participating in National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week not only brings greater awareness to our community, but also helps to promote the national endeavor to end hunger and homelessness. Teams will be formed and they will create needle art items in different categories (all items to be donated to the homeless population). There will be door prizes and fun for all.
